RWB has received a contract from Evides Industry Water for the engineering of the mechanical installation of a sewage treatment plant at Lamb Weston/Meijer in Kruiningen.
Lamb Weston/Meijer (LWM) is a producer of frozen potato products and mainly produces fries. The company has six factories where approximately 1.2 million tonnes of potatoes are processed each year into 700,000 tonnes of frozen products.
LWM’s objective is to reuse a certain percentage of its waste water streams. With a pilot installation, Evides investigated the purification of effluent from the after-settlements of biological purification (October 2014 to May 2015).
This research showed that water reuse of the effluent is possible by means of an installation consisting of the process steps ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis.
A degassing step has also been added to the full scale installation (70 m3/h) by means of a degassing tower.
